Terms of service

Welcome to Zigiju Learning! These Terms of Service govern the use of our online tutoring platform, designed to support students preparing for the Ethiopian University Entrance Examination.
By using our services, registering for a class, or accessing our platform, you agree to the following terms:

1. Service Overview
Zigiju Learning connects students with qualified tutors (mainly university students and professionals) for online exam preparation sessions.
We offer:
1-on-1 sessions: Personalized learning at 500 ETB/hour.
Group sessions: Collaborative study with peers at 300 ETB/hour.

2. Registration
Students must complete the registration form with accurate details. Parents/guardians may register on behalf of students under 18. A confirmation message will be sent once a booking is approved. Zigiju reserves the right to approve or deny any registration.

3. Payment Terms
All payments must be made in advance to secure a session. Payment options include Bank Transfer and Telebirr. Prices are inclusive of any applicable service charges or processing fees. Group session payments are non-refundable, except in cases of tutor absence or platform error. Refunds for 1-on-1 sessions may be considered if cancellation is made at least 24 hours before the session.

4. Session Scheduling & Attendance
Sessions will be held via Google Meet/Zoom/Telegram/Other. Students must be on time. Late arrivals will not receive extra time. In group sessions, Zigiju is not responsible for individual preferences in topics unless arranged in advance. If fewer than 2 students attend a group session, Zigiju may reschedule or convert the session to 1-on-1 based on tutor availability.

5. Tutor Assignment
Tutors are vetted based on their academic background and subject knowledge. Zigiju will assign tutors based on subject demand, availability, and student needs. Students may request tutor changes if there are learning style mismatches.

6. Code of Conduct
Students must be respectful during sessions.
Disruptive behavior may result in removal from sessions without refund. Tutors are also expected to maintain professionalism and respect.

7. Content and Copyright
All materials shared during sessions (notes, recordings, handouts) are for personal academic use only. Redistribution, commercial use, or sharing of learning content without written consent is prohibited.

8. Platform Use
Students may not bypass the platform to book private sessions directly with tutors. Doing so may result in suspension from future services.

9. Privacy
Personal information collected is used only to manage bookings, communicate with users, and improve services. Data will not be sold or shared with third parties without consent.

10. Liability
Zigiju Learning is not responsible for internet issues, power outages, or device problems on the student’s side. Tutors are independent contractors, and while we ensure quality, Zigiju is not liable for tutor performance beyond platform accountability.

11. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated occasionally. Users will be notified via email or platform announcements.

12. Refund & Rescheduling Policy
Refunds will not be given for missed sessions unless the tutor fails to show up or there was a platform scheduling error. Students can request to reschedule 1-on-1 sessions at least 12 hours in advance and group sessions at least 24 hours in advance.

13. Dispute Resolution
To prevent misunderstandings:
Any disputes or complaints will be handled internally first. Users can contact support to resolve issues within 7 days of the incident.
